WELCOME TO VFW POST 6691

LT Wood - CPL Reid

Fraser VFW Post 6691 was chartered in 1946 immediately after WWII. Since its inception, the post has been an anchor of the community serving veterans, their families, schools and countless programs throughout the state. In December 2014, we merged with the Roseville Corporal Neil W. Reid VFW to become the Fraser-Corporal Neil W. Reid - VFW Post 6691. CPL Reid was the first soldier from Macomb County to be killed in action during WWI. This consolidation has doubled our membership and will expand our ability to serve the community as well. On November 27, 2019, the post was renamed the LT Wood-CPL Reid VFW Post 6691 in honor of our first commander, Army LT Claude Wood.

Sponsor - Southeast Michigan Chamber of Commerce

The Southeast Michigan Chamber of Commerce (SMCC) operates as a for-profit, privately held business entity under the Tri County Chamber of Commerce. More than just a traditional chamber, it functions as a marketing and networking consortium, providing businesses with unparalleled growth opportunities while maintaining a strong commitment to community service and advocacy.

Approximately ten years ago, the Gratiot Avenue Business Association was formed in partnership with the Macomb First Business Alliance. In 2015, these organizations merged to establish the Gratiot Avenue Chamber of Commerce Macomb (GACCM), representing nine communities along the Gratiot corridor and 350,000 residents. With a proven record of success, the Chamber was asked to assist in the formation of additional chambers, leading to the creation of the Southeast Michigan Chamber of Commerce in 2017, which brought together the Gratiot Avenue Chamber of Commerce and the Warren Center Line Chamber of Commerce. In 2025, the Chamber further expanded with the introduction of the Sterling Heights Chamber of Commerce, solidifying its role as a regional leader supporting businesses across 11 communities and 500,000 residents.

These Chambers provide networking events, business development programs, and exclusive member benefits, offering discounted services, business-to-business marketing opportunities, and health-related products. SMCC is also a strong advocate at the local, state, and federal levels, proactively working to create business opportunities for its members. Beyond business development, the Chamber plays a vital role in nonprofit support, having contributed over $650,000 to local initiatives since 2019, particularly in efforts to assist the homeless community.

The Chamber staff works closely with members, facilitating connections and collaborations to help businesses thrive. Over the years, SMCC and its affiliates have been instrumental in the development of numerous community organizations, including the Macomb County Rotating Emergency Shelter Team (MCREST), Cruisin’ 53, North Gratiot Cruise Foundation, Warren Community Foundation, and the Roseville Heritage Foundation.

As SMCC continues to expand, its reach and influence grow stronger, creating a lasting impact on the business community and the region as a whole.
